AJAY SHANKAR, Ph.D - Dr. Shankar is currently an active senior advisor too the Delhi Chapter of Akshaya Patra Foundation and is mentoring the Delhi team. He also served on the Board of the Chennai United Way. He was associated with Caterpillar for 40 years holding many executive management positions; his last before retirement as Country Manager for all of India. He graduated from IIT in Delhi and obtained his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.



COMMODORE RAJAN BHANDARI (Ret) YSM, VSM - The Commodore graduated from the National Defense Academy in 1966 and served the Indian Navy for 30 years in various executive, operational, training and command roles. He moved to the corporate sector in 1997. He then frontlined international business operations for 12 years; four in International Freight Forwarding and eight in IT enabled services with iGATE in customer facing and quality management roles. Since 2008, he has been a Professor at  Amity University teaching Strategy and Operations to management students and facilitating young people in discovering their latent potential. Rajan is also an alumnus of the Defense Services Staff College, Wellington (India) and the College of Naval Warfare. Rajan works closely with the Greater Noida Chapter of Udayan and is currently mentoring about 15 Shalinis for the Shalini Fellowship program (USF). 


RAM BHARGAVA – Ram Bhargava has 45 years of experience in the Oil and Gas Sector. He is currently working on the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) of offshore oil and gas producing and processing platforms. In recent years he has worked as Senior Project Manager with MMC Oil and Gas (Malaysia). Previously he was Project Engineering Manager with TECHNIP (a French Oil and Gas Organization) located in Abu Dhabi. Earlier he worked in various capacities with a premier Oil and Gas consultancy organization (Engineers India Limited) located in New Delhi. He is an Engineering graduate of Indian Institute Of Technology, and completed an MBA from the Faculty Of Management Studies, University of Delhi. 


ROHIT CHAND - Mr. Chand is a Trustee of the Delhi ENT Multispeciality Hospital and Research Centre and of the Krishan Chand Memorial Trust. He is also currently the Chairperson and Co-founder of Picture Time Digiplex which is providing entertainment services in Rural India coupled with out-reach programs.  Mr. Chand is a serial entrepreneur with over 45 year experience in founding and mentoring companies and is currently intimately associated with the start-ups thrust in India through the Indian Angel Network. He provides seed funding and mentoring support to over a dozen companies. Earlier, he had founded and taken two very successful companies Public in India. Rohit has an engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. He is a recipient of the IIT Delhi Alumni Award for Outstanding Contribution to National Development.


RAJESH GROVER - While in Denmark, Rajesh Grover worked with the Danish Indian Society to provide aid to those impacted by natural catastrophes in India. He graduated from IIT Delhi and moved to Copenhagen, Denmark where he worked for Philips Elektronikindustri A/S in manufacturing and studied Economics and Business Management at the Copenhagen Business School. He later joined FLSmidth and for twenty years served in marketing and managerial positions and was involved in forming joint ventures with Indian engineering companies including Larsen & Toubro. He now lives in Dehradun, India.


RAJAT M. NAG - Mr. Nag is deeply involved with Action for Autism particularly in strategic and financial management and, as President of the Board of Directors. He is a graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology and the London School of Economics, is concurrently a Distinguished Fellow at the National Council of Applied Economic Research, Delhi and the Emerging Markets Forum, Washington DC. He is a Distinguished Professor at Beijing Normal University, China and also serves on the Boards of several organizations. He was the Managing Director General of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) during 2006-2013. 


RONALD RAINSON, P.E. - Mr. Rainson was Chairman of the Board of the Central Illinois Red Cross; a Board Member of the non-profit Hopedale Medical Complex; and Major Accounts Chairman and Portfolio Chairman for United Way. He has 50 years experience as Chairman & CEO managing the construction of electric power plants and systems; public works; environmental engineering operations in 31 states, Germany and the UK; and manufacturing design in the US, UK, Romania, and India. He was Mayor of Morton, Illinois and has degrees in Electrical Engineering and Industrial Management from Lawrence Technological University in Michigan.


MADHU S. THAKAR - Madhu S. Thakar retired in 2011 after 40 years as owner, innovation engineer, and manager of Thakar Equipment Co. in New Delhi, India manufacturing custom built commercial kitchen and food services equipment with nearly 1500 clients. He is currently involved with many social initiatives and recently developed an inexpensive biodigester toilet for rural households in India. He is a Mechanical Engineering graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and completed an MBA from the Eli Broad College of Business, at Michigan State University, in East Lansing, USA.
