AASRAA TRUST works towards empowering street and slum children through education, vocational training, nutrition, medical care and providing shelter homes. The children they work with come from extremely impoverished backgrounds and are mostly rag pickers, beggars, addicts, runaways and orphans. Link to AASRAA. ACTION FOR AUTISM is a not for profit organization that strives to access the rights of individuals with autism and their families. AFA is involved in lifespan activities including early intervention, education, assessments, work and employment, independent living, as well as awareness, advocacy and research. They strive to eliminate classroom hunger by implementing the Mid-Day Meal Scheme in government schools and government-aided schools. FEEDING INDIA works to end hunger and malnutrition in India by providing food to vulnerable people. A major portion of what they do is redistributing good extra food to people in need. “More than 200 million Indians sleep hungry every night.” Link to Feeding India. GREENTARA is a volunteer based organization whose mission is to make a significant social impact by nurturing and mentoring Social Enterprises (SE’s). For SE’s struggling for a footing, they help them onto a path of self-sustainability and growth. For established SE’s, they help them to grow and prosper. Link to Greentara
UDAYAN CARE works with vulnerable children and youth, especially girls, to protect and nurture them to pursue higher education. Rajan is currently mentoring about 15 Shalinis for the Shalini Foundation program (USF).
